Covid-19 cases breach 90 K mark in U’khand
Total cases 90167; six deaths, 317 fresh cases reported on Tuesday
The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Uttarakhand crossed the 90 thousand mark on Tuesday with the state health department reporting 317 new cases of the disease. The state now has 90167 patients of Covid-19 disease. It took 19 days for the Covid- 19 count to reach from 80000 to 90000. The fastest increase occurred in September when it took only seven days for the count of patients to reach from 30000 to 40000.
The authorities also reported the death of six patients of the disease on the day after which the death toll mounted to 1495 in the state. The health department discharged 555 patients from different hospitals on Sunday. A total of 82243 patients have recovered from the disease so far in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 91.21 and the sample positivity rate is 5.15 percent.
Two patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at District Hospital Uttarkashi on Tuesday. One patient each was reported dead at Ujala Hospital Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar, district hospital Pithoragarh, Himalayan hospital Dehradun and Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on Tuesday.
The health department reported 128 fresh cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 48 from Nainital, 38 from Uttarkashi, 25 from Pithoragarh, 22 from Haridwar, 12 each from Pauri and Tehri, 11 from Champawat, eight from Udham Singh Nagar, six from Almora, five from Chamoli and two from Rudraprayag on Tuesday.
Out of 555 patients discharged on Tuesday, 138 are from Dehradun, 124 from Nainital, 59 from Almora, 50 from Udham Singh Nagar, 31 from Pithoragarh and 28 from Tehri. Uttarakhand now has 5256 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is at continuing to remain at top of the table of active cases with 1634 cases while with 990 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third spot with 416 active cases. Pithoragarh has 400, Uttarkashi 366, Tehri 270, Almora 222, Pauri 214, Champawat 183, Udham Singh Nagar 171 and Bageshwar 154 and Chamoli 145 active cases of the disease. With 91 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag is now at the bottom of the table of active cases of Covid-19.
