Covid-19 cases continue to increase in U’khand

108 new cases reported on Friday, active case count now at 283
The sudden spurt in the number of cases of Covid-19 in Uttarakhand is continuing.
The State Health department reported 108 new cases of the disease from different parts of the State on Friday. The department had reported 106 cases of the disease a day earlier. Death of one patient from the disease was also reported from Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on the day.
The authorities reported 53 new cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun district on Friday. The department also found 17 new cases of the disease in Nainital, 13 in Tehri, 10 in Haridwar, six in Pithoragarh, four in Pauri, three in Champawat and one each in Chamoli and Udham Singh Nagar. No new cases of the disease were reported from Bageshwar, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts on the day.
The authorities declared 75 patients recovered from the disease on Friday. The department has so far detected 1,004 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year in the State . A total of 713 patients have recovered from the disease so far. A total of eight patients have lost their lives from the disease from January 1 this year in the state. The State now has 283 active patients of Covid-19. Dehradun has 101 active cases of the disease while Nainital has 70, Haridwar 30, Almora 15, Tehri 13, Pauri 12, Uttarkashi 11, Chamoli and Pithoragarh eight each, Champawat seven, Bageshwar five, Udham Singh Nagar two and Rudraprayag one active case of the disease now.
