Covid -19 cases increasing in U’khand

102 new patients reported on Tuesday
In an indication that Covid-19 is still a risk to be wary of, the State Health department reported 102 new cases of the disease from different parts of Uttarakhand on Tuesday. Death of no patient was reported in the State on the day. The authorities also declared 52 patients cured of the disease on the day. The department has so far detected 94,246 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 90,245 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 279 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 95.75 per cent on Tuesday. The positivity rate of the disease increased to 5.48 per cent on the day.
The health department reported 51 new patients from Dehradun, 15 from Nainital, 14 from Haridwar, seven from Uttarkashi, five each from Tehri and Udham Singh Nagar, two each from Chamoli and Pauri and one from Pithoragarh on Tuesday. No new cases were reported from Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat and Rudraprayag districts on the day.
The number of active patients of Covid-19 was at 372 on Tuesday. Dehradun with 232 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 41 and Nainital 37 active cases of the disease. Champawat and Rudraprayag districts have no active cases of the disease now.
In the ongoing vaccination drive 13,417 people were vaccinated in 812 sessions in the state held on Tuesday.
