Covid-19 count mounts to 59796 in U’khand

11 deaths, 288 fresh cases reported on Friday

The death toll from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand climbed to 979 on Friday with the state health department reporting the death of 11 patients. The department reported 288 fresh cases of Covid-19 on the day. The state now has 59796 patients with the disease. The authorities discharged 518 patients of the disease after their recovery from different hospitals of the state on Friday. A total of 53718 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery rate from the disease has climbed to 89.84 percent and the Infection Rate (IR) is at 6.40 percent.

Deaths of two patients each were reported from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Mahant Indiresh hospital, Dehradun and Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on Friday. One patient each succumbed to the disease at Government Doon Medical College hospital, Himalayan hospital Dehradun, HNB base hospital Srinagar, Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar district on the day.

The authorities reported 62 fresh cases of the disease from Udham Singh Nagar district on Friday while 41 patients of Covid-19 from Dehradun. Similarly 33 patients from Nainital, 26 in Rudraprayag, 17 in Haridwar, 14 Uttarkashi, 13 in Bageshwar, 12 in Tehri, 10 in Chamoli, seven in Champawat, five in Almora and four from Rudraprayag were reported on Friday. 

Out of 518 patients reported cured on Friday, 258 are from Dehradun, 65 from Pauri and 40 from Uttarkashi.  The state now has 4656 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 1229 active cases is at top of table while Haridwar with 588 active cases is on second spot. Nainital has 538, Pauri 440, Udham Singh Nagar 359, Uttarkashi 260, Chamoli 243, Tehri 230, Rudraprayag 205, Pithoragarh 168, Almora 140 and Champawat 137 active cases of the disease. With 119 active cases of Covid-19, Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table of active cases in Uttarakhand.
