Covid-19 death toll climbs to 1458 in U’khand
11 deaths, 436 fresh cases reported on Thursday
The death toll from the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Uttarakhand mounted to 1458 in Uttarakhand on Thursday with the state health department registering the death of 11 patients. The department also reported 436 fresh cases of the pandemic on the day which increased the tally of the disease to 88376. The authorities discharged 579 patients from different hospitals on Thursday after their recovery. A total 80467 patients have recovered from the disease so far and the recovery percentage now stands at 91.05.
Four patients of Covid-19 were reported dead by the health department in Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on Thursday. Two patients of the disease succumbed to death at District Hospital Pithoragarh on the day. One patient each was reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, Kailash hospital Dehradun, Medicity Rudrapur, Synergy hospital Dehradun and Prayas hospital Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar on Thursday.
The authorities reported 143 fresh cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 103 from Nainital, 61 from Haridwar, 38 from Almora, 31 from Pithoragarh, 17 from Pauri, 12 from each from Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar each, eight from Uttarkashi, seven from Tehri and two each from Chamoli and Rudraprayag on Thursday.
Uttarakhand now has 5331 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is continuing to remain at top of the table of active cases with 1565 cases while with 1030 active cases Nainital is at second spot.Haridwar is at third spot with 434 active cases. Pithoragarh has 353, Almora 317, Tehri 278, Uttarkashi 272, Chamoli 229, Pauri 209, Champawat 190, Udham Singh Nagar 186 and Bageshwar 151 active cases of the disease. With 115 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag is now at the bottom of the table of active cases of Covid-19.
