Covid-19; Recovery rate improves to 86.87 % in U’khand

1,687 new patients, 4,446 recoveries reported on Saturday. Virus claims 99 ( 58 new, 41 backlog) more lives
In an indication that the contagion of Covid-19 is on decline in Uttarakhand the recovery rate from the disease has now increased to 86.87 per cent in the state. On Saturday the state health department reported 1,687 new patients of the disease while 4,446 patients of the disease recovered. The cumulative count of the patients of Covid-19 in the state is at 3,27,112 while a total of 2,83,962 patients have recovered from the disease. The state health department reported the death of 58 patients from the disease on Saturday which increased the death toll to 6,360 in the state. A total of 32,682 samples were sent for testing on Saturday and the sample positivity rate is at 6.91 percent.
Out of the 58 deaths reported on Saturday, nine occurred at Himalayan hospital Dehradun while six each occurred at Sushila Tiwari government hospital and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. Similarly four patients each died at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun and Vinay Vishal hospital Haridwar, three each at Arogyadham hospital Dehradun and Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital Dehradun. Two patients each succumbed to the disease at CMI hospital Dehradun, Central hospital Nainital and district hospital Pithoragarh on the day.
The authorities also added 41 such deaths in the toll on Saturday which had occurred in the past but were not reported earlier. Thirty such deaths were reported from Udham Singh Nagar, eight from Champawat and three from Haridwar.
Dehradun reported 285 new cases of Covid -19 on Saturday while Pithoragarh reported 215, Chamoli 203, Haridwar 186, Nainital 176, Almora 130, Uttarkashi and Pauri 98 each, Udham Singh Nagar 92, Tehri 80, Bageshwar 63, Rudraprayag 34, and Champawat 27 new cases of the disease on Saturday.
The state now has 31,110 active patients of the disease. Haridwar is the top position in the list of active cases with 7,695 cases. Dehradun is on second position with 4,271 cases, Pauri 3,185, Chamoli 2,332, Udham Singh Nagar 2,176, Nainital 2,043, Tehri 1,796, Pithoragarh 1,618, Rudraprayag 1,617, Almora 1,502, Bageshwar 1,108, Uttarkashi 1,014 and Champawat 753 active cases of the disease.
The state now has 192 patients of Mucormycosis ( Black Fungus) and out of them 15 have died while 13 have recovered from the disease.
To contain the contagion of Covid-19, the state administration has set up 367 containment zones in different parts of the state. In the ongoing vaccination drive 15,460 people were vaccinated in 504 sessions in different parts of the state on Saturday. A total of 6,83,052 people have been fully vaccinated while 22,04,837 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state
