Covid-19; Relief as only 589 cases reported in Uttarakhand on Thursday

In a major drop in the contagion of the Covid -19 in Uttarakhand the state health department reported only 589 new cases of the disease on Thursday. The authorities also reported death of 31 patients and 3,354 recoveries from the disease on the day.
The cumulative count of the patients of Covid-19 in the state is now at 3,32,067 while a total of 2,97,122 patients have recovered from the disease so far. The death toll from the disease in the state is at 6,573. The samples of 27,400 suspected patients were sent for testing on Thursday and the sample positivity rate is at 6.80 percent.
Out of the 30 deaths reported on Thursday, six each occurred at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani, five at Government Doon Medical College(GDMC) hospital Dehradun, four at Himalayan hospital and two at Brijlal hospital Nainital.
The provisional state capital Dehradun reported 136, Haridwar 104, Nainital 75, Udham Singh Nagar 70, Chamoli 50, Almora 46, Pithoragarh 22, Uttarkashi and Tehri 21 each, Bageshwar 17 and Champawat two new cases of the disease on Thursday.
The state now has 22,530 active patients of the disease. Haridwar is the top position in the list of active cases with 4,532 cases. Dehradun has 2259, Chamoli 2198, Pauri 2120, Udham Singh Nagar 2,000, Pithoragarh 1,896, Tehri 1,536, Nainital 1,441, Almora 1,125, Bageshwar 1,054, Rudraprayag 907, Champawat 752 and Uttarkashi 710 active cases of the disease.
The state reported 11 new cases of Mucormycosis ( Black Fungus) and eight deaths from the disease on Thursday. The count of the Black fungus cases has now become 255, out of them 35 have died while 16 have recovered from the disease.
In the ongoing vaccination drive 14,506 people were vaccinated in 312 sessions in different parts of the state on Thursday. A total of 6,85,554 people have been fully vaccinated while 22,72,280 have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
