144 health workers vaccinated
The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Uttarakhand increased to 95826 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting 85 new cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of three patients on Wednesday which increased the death tally from the disease to 1639 in the state. The health authorities discharged 96 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery on the day. A total of 91419 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage in the state now stands at 94.40 percent and the sample positivity rate is 4.57 percent.
Two patients of the disease were reported dead at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun on Wednesday while one patient succumbed to the disease at Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on the day.
The state health department reported 44 new cases of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 20 from Nainital, 11 from Haridwar, six from Udham Singh Nagar, two from Pithoragarh and one each from Bageshwar and Champawat districts on Wednesday. No new case of the disease was reported from Almora, Chamoli, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts on the day.
With an increasing number of recoveries and reduction in the number of new cases, the active cases of the diseases are decreasing rapidly in the state. The state now has only 1439 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is at the top of the table of active cases with 308 cases while with 272 active cases Nainital is at second position. Haridwar has 191, Almora 128, Bageshwar 125, Udham Singh Nagar 113, Pithoragarh 73, Tehri 65, Uttarkashi 61, Pauri 50, Rudraprayag 26, Chamoli 18 and Champawat nine active cases of the disease.
Meanwhile 144 health workers were vaccinated in two vaccine sessions held in the state on Wednesday. These sessions were held in Pauri districts. A total of 14690 workers have so far been vaccinated in 231 vaccine sessions in the state.
