Covid-19 vaccine administered in 14546 health workers in U’khand

Four deaths, 62 new cases reported on Monday

A total of 14546 health workers of Uttarakhand have so far received the first dose of the Covishield, the vaccine of Covid-19. On Monday, 58 vaccine sessions were held in different parts of the state and in them 4032 health workers were vaccinated. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the state Covid-19 control room, Dr Abhishek Tripathi said that 229 vaccine sessions have so far been held in the state. On Monday 857 workers were vaccinated in Dehradun, 507 in Haridwar, 488 in Nainital, 359 in Rudraprayag, 178 in Almora, 149 in Bageshwar, 272 in Chamoli, 195 in Champawat, 167 in Pauri, 230 in Pithoragarh, 192 in Tehri, 218 in Udham Singh Nagar and 220 in Uttarkashi on Monday.

Meanwhile the death toll from the novel Coronavirus increased to 1635 in Uttarakhand with the state health department reporting four deaths from the disease on Monday. The department reported 62 new cases of the disease on Monday. The state now has 95702 patients of the disease. The recovery percentage is at 95.32 percent.

Two patients of the disease died at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun while one patient each was reported dead at JLN district hospital Rudrapur and Medicity Rudrapur on Monday.

Dehradun reported 28 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday while Nainital reported 13, Haridwar 10, Udham Singh Nagar 6, Chamoli 2 and Rudraprayag, Tehri and Pithoragarh one case of the disease each. No patient of the disease was reported from Almora, Bageshwar, Pauri and Uttarkashi districts on the day.

The state now has only 1523 active cases of the Covid-19 with Dehradun leading the table with 349 cases. Nainital is at second position with 282 cases, Haridwar has 200, Almora 136, Bageshwar 128, Udham Singh Nagar 106, Pithoragarh 72, Tehri 69, Pauri 50, Rudraprayag 30 and Chamoli 29 active patients of the disease. With only eight active cases of the disease Champawat is at the bottom of the table of active patients of Covid-19 in Uttarakhand.
