Thursday, 06 May 2021 | PNS | Dehradun
The Covid curfew which was to end today has been extended till May 10 in the entire area of Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. This decision was taken after chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat held an informal meeting with ministers here on Wednesday.
An order issued by chief secretary Om Prakash states that considering the fresh surge of Covid infection, the district magistrates of Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar are directed to enforce the Covid curfew throughout the district from May 6 to 10 (5 AM). Other district magistrates are directed to assess the situation of Covid infection in their districts and based on their assessment of the situation, may impose Covid curfew till May 10.
There shall be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods. All industries, goods vehicles, construction work and other essential services will be allowed to operate. The ration shops (on alternate days), milk booths and vegetable shops will be allowed to operate till 12 PM. It is pertinent to mention here that some ministers were in favour of imposing a complete lockdown in the state to check the Covid surge. However, for now the state government has decided to extend the existing curfew.
