Covid curfew extended till May 6 in 6 cities of Dehradun
Considering public safety amid the second Covid wave, the Dehradun district magistrate Ashish Kumar Srivastava has extended the Covid curfew which was to end on Monday till May 3.
The Covid curfew will now continue till 5 AM on May 6 in areas under the municipal corporations of Dehradun and Rishikesh, Garhi and Clement Town cantonments in Dehradun city along with the areas under the municipalities of Doiwala, Vikasnagar, Mussoorie and Herbertpur. Now the shops selling essential commodities will be allowed to remain open only till 12 PM while medicine shops, petrol pumps and gas agencies will remain open for their full duration. While all public and private transport will remain prohibited, movement will be allowed for those travelling by flight, train or bus.
A maximum of 25 people will be allowed in a marriage or other functions. While construction activities and transport of necessary materials will be allowed, the shops selling such materials will remain open till 12 PM. Those going for treatment in a hospital and for Covid vaccination will be allowed. All the other conditions implemented during the Covid curfew so far will remain applicable during the extended period.
