Covid cases increasing in Uttarakhand

Amid the scare generated by spurt in the Covid-19 cases in many major cities of the country, the active case count in Uttarakhand has also started increasing. The state now has 73 active cases of the disease. In the last two days 23 new cases of the disease were reported by the state health department. On Sunday the positivity rate of the state was at 1.41 per cent which is appreciably high considering the rate in the last two months.
On Monday the state health department reported 11 new patients of the Covid-19 in the state. Death of no patient was reported from in the state on the day. The authorities also declared five patients cured from the disease on Monday.
The department has so far detected 92,312 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 88,746 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 275 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 96.14 per cent on Monday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 0.91 per cent on the day. The health department reported eight new patients from Dehradun and one each from Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Monday.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 73. Dehradun with 40 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 24 active cases of the disease. Almora, Chamoli, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts have no active case of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 16,670 people were vaccinated in 934 sessions in the state held on Monday.
