Covid tally mounts to 49248 in U’khand

365 fresh cases, 14 deaths and 801 recoveries reported on Thursday

The number of Covid-19 patients in Uttarakhand mounted to 49248 on Thursday with the state health department reporting 365 fresh cases of the disease. Deaths of 14 patients of the disease were reported on the day which increased the death toll to 625 in the state. The authorities declared 801 patients of the disease cured on Thursday which increased the recovery count to 39836. The percentage recovery of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 80.89 percent and out of total samples tested 7.09 percent have tested positive for the disease.

Six patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Thursday while five patients were reported dead at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital. Two patients of Covid-19 succumbed to the disease at Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital Haldwani and one patient expired at district hospital Uttarkashi on Thursday.
The authorities reported 62 patients of Covid-19 from Dehradun while 53 patients were reported in Udham Singh Nagar. Similarly 50 patients in Nainital, 44 in Haridwar, 41 in Chamoli, 39 in Pauri, 26 in Rudraprayag, 14 in Champawat, 13 in Almora, nine in Pithoragarh, seven in Uttarkashi, six in Bageshwar and one patient in Tehri was reported on Thursday. Out of the 801 patients declared free from disease on Thursday, 216 are from Dehradun, 207 from Udham Singh Nagar, 106 from Haridwar, 62 from Nainital, 46 from Champawat, 32 from Pauri and 26 and 22 from Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh respectively.

The speaker of Uttarakhand assembly, Premchand Agarwal was declared cured from the disease on Thursday after his swab sample was tested negative for the disease.

The state now has 8544 active patients of the disease. Dehradun district with 2712 active cases is at top of table while Haridwar with 1429 active cases is on second spot. Nainital has 901, Udham Singh Nagar 750, Pauri 652, Uttarkashi 427, Tehri 359, Chamoli 318, Almora 272, Pithoragarh 238, Champawat 217 and Rudraprayag 167 active patients of the disease. With 102 active patients of Covid-19 Bageshwar district is at bottom of the table.
