In view of the rising threat of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in the past few days, the state government has decided to close the all the schools in Uttarakhand till January 16 to contain the contagion. At present the schools are closed on account of winter vacation. The education secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram issued the orders for school closure on Monday. According to the order, all the private, government and aided schools along with Anganwadi centres will remain closed till January 16. The order stated that all the classes will be taken online till the further orders of the government.
