Covid vaccination dry run carried out successfully in Dehradun

The dry run for the Covid-19 vaccination was also carried out in Uttarakhand along with other parts of the nation on Saturday. In Dehradun district, the dry run for the Covid vaccination was carried out successfully on five medical teams. Informing about the dry run conducted in the state, the Covid-19 vaccination state nodal officer and mission director of National Health Mission, Sonika informed that activities as part of the vaccination dry run were carried out in Dehradun at Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Hospital, Urban Health Centre-Khudbuda, Primary Health Centre- Bhaniyawala, Government Allopathic Clinic- Bhogpur and Ranipokhri from 9 AM. During the exercise, five medical teams were allocated the target of administering the vaccine to 123 health workers out of which 121 health workers were administered the vaccine. Before the administration of the vaccine, all the beneficiaries were intimated about the same by an SMS on their mobile phone numbers.

Sonika further informed that the exercise was conducted as per the standards with the health workers and doctors deputed for vaccination learning the details of the vaccination while doing the task as per the directions of the supervisor deputed for the task.

Informing about the activities carried out as part of the dry run, the NHM director Dr Saroj Naithani said that in five locations, adverse reaction scenario was created on six beneficiaries so that such a scenario can be prevented or resolved without issues in the real case scenario.After the dry run, Dr Naithani presented a detailed report to the state task force wherein the dry run was stated to be a successful exercise. It was stated that the preparations for administering the Covid-19 vaccine have been made. However, such dry runs must also be carried out in other districts so that real time vaccination activity can be carried out as per the set standards, she stated.
