Covishield controversy: Congress demand high level inquiry

Uttarakhand Congress has demanded a high level inquiry on the Covishield vaccine controversy. In a memorandum to the President of India, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) said that new disclosures and admissions made by the British vaccine company AstraZeneca in the court about side effects of its vaccine have shocked people. The chief media coordinator of the State Congress, Rajiv Mehrishi who was part of the delegation of the Congress said that the government should also provide adequate compensation to the people affected by health issues due to vaccination. He said that the company should also take the responsibility of the treatment of the people. Mehrishi said that the accountability should be fixed for this episode in which the health of the people was compromised.
The delegation included Mahanagar president Jaswinder Singh Gogi, former president of Mahanagar Congress Lal Chand Sharma, vice president Puran Singh Rawat and others.
