Cow slaughter accused arrested from Sahaspur after encounter

Acting on the inputs that the prime accused in the cow slaughter case involving Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh had been hiding in Sahaspur and planning to flee Dehradun, Dehradun police arrested an individual identified as Ishan from Sahaspur on Wednesday. The SSP, Dehradun Ajai Singh said that he had been injured in an encounter with police and sent to Sahaspur hospital. Notably, SSP had announced a bounty of 15,000 for the arrest of the main accused. 

During interrogation, Ehsan is stated to have confessed that he, along with his accomplices, had illegally slaughtered 13 cows on the Uttarakhand-Himachal border and sold their meat. 

It may be mentioned here,   Doon Police and Sirmaur Police (Himachal Pradesh) had arrested 10 accused – eight from Sahaspur and two from the Puruwala area of Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, regarding the same case under a coordinated action on Tuesday.
