PNS/ UTTARKASHI

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the district magistrate Meherban Singh Bisht directed the Revenue, Police, Excise and Narcotics Control Bureau officials to conduct a joint campaign in the potential areas to effectively stop opium cultivation.
He further asked the officials concerned to prepare and send a proposal to the State government for setting up a de-addiction centre in the district, adding that sale of cigarettes, gutkha and other narcotics should be strictly stopped near the educational institutions.

A strict vigil should also be kept on medical stores to prevent these from selling illegal narcotic drugs. He also laid stress on conducting continuous awareness campaigns to save the youth from the drug menace.
