The Tehsil administration of Laksar in Haridwar district sealed three Madarsas found to be functioning in violation of the rules on Tuesday. The team headed by the Tehsildar Pratap Singh Chauhan visited various locations and took action against the Madarsas. The operators of these bodies were unable to provide any valid documents, following which the Madarsas were sealed.

Chauhan informed that acting on the direction of the State administration, the Tehsil administration team has been checking Madarsas in the district for about a week now. He said that the majority of the Madarsas operating in the area are running without valid documentation. Such Madarsas do not even meet the basic required standards for being allowed to operate, he said.

Chauhan further informed that an Education department team headed by him first reached Sidhud village where the operator of the Madarsa was unable to provide any valid documentation. Similarly, the team visited Nagla and Ethal villages, where the operators of the Madarsas were unable to present any valid documents.

Considering this, all these three Madarsas were sealed by the team. The Tehsildar further said that the authorities will continue the crackdown on Madaras functioning without proper registration or meeting the necessary standards. It is pertinent to mention here that more than 136 Madaras have been sealed by the State authorities in different parts of Uttarakhand so far. These bodies were reportedly not registered with the Education department or the Madarsa Board.
