Cricketer Rishabh Pant shifted to Mumbai hospital from Max Dehradun

Swashbuckling cricketer Rishabh Pant on Wednesday was airlifted to Mumbai from Dehradun after being admitted in Max Hospital here for six days following a car accident on December 30. The 25-year-old star cricketer who sustained multiple injuries in the car accident in Roorkee was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Wednesday evening. Releasing a statement on Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that Pant was airlifted to Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon from Dehradun after making all the necessary arrangements in Mumbai. He will undergo surgery and subsequent procedures for ligament tears in the knee and ankle. The BCCI stated that its medical team will continue to monitor Pant’s progress throughout his recovery and rehabilitation and would make every effort to expedite his recovery process. Pant was admitted in Max Hospital of Dehradun for six days and was recovering well, as per the official sources in Dehradun. According to them, it was BCCI’s call to provide him treatment in Max Hospital after his accident as well as shifting him to Mumbai for further treatment on Wednesday. However, they added that the cricketer’s health was not at all critical when he was being shifted from Dehradun. He was fine and has been interacting with others during his stay in the hospital, said the sources. Pant met with an accident on his way to Roorkee from Delhi in the wee hours when he was driving to his home on December 30. As per the authorities, he lost control on the NH-58 highway before hitting the divider but managed to get out of his car in time. A driver and conductor of Haryana Roadways, who were passing through the route, took him to the hospital.
