In latest Dehradun news, the State chief secretary S S Sandhu stressed on the administration going all-out to stop illegal mining while holding a virtual meeting with the district magistrates of the State. He also told the DMs to order the officers concerned to collect the full amounts of the penalties slapped for illegal mining and to send monthly reports on this matter to the chief secretary’s office. He further said that to curb the illegal mining menace, the district-level and tehsil-level task forces should carry on with their operations with full force and all the data related to such operations must be uploaded on the portal. He laid special stress on stopping illegal mining activities near the bridges. Among the senior officers present during the virtual meeting included the secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey.
