CS asks officers to remove hurdles to development works in Nainital

Stressing implementation of all development projects taken up for Nainital district on an urgent basis, the chief secretary Anand Bardhan directed the administrative and other officials to go all-out to remove the hurdles impeding their execution. He gave this directive while reviewing the progress of the district’s development projects.  “No hurdle, be it administrative, technical or procedural, should not be allowed to come in the way,” he asserted.  

“If the problem is at the government level, it should be brought to the notice of the government immediately,” he said and added that all departments should set monthly targets and work regularly. “Pending tenders and approvals should be completed expeditiously and the district magistrate and chief development officer should regularly review projects,” he stated.  
He also instructed officials to draw up a long-term plan.

The CS stresses on resolving public grievances and chief minister helpline cases promptly.

Earlier, the district magistrate Lalit Mohan Raiyal informed him about the important projects and development works being carried out in the district.  

Among the important projects reviewed were beautification and illumination of Kainchi Dham under Manaskhand Mandirmala Mission, those under Jal Jeevan Mission, sewerage and pollution prevention works.


During the review of the Irrigation department, the CS took detailed information about the current progress of the Jamrani Dam Project constructed at a cost of Rs. 3678.23 crores and gave instructions to complete the project by the scheduled time of June 2029.   While reviewing the progress of tunnel construction, he said that the officials should soon visit the tunnel and other construction sites under the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway project.
