CS assures UPNL outsourced employees of dialogue with CM soon

Uttarakhand government would soon initiate a dialogue with protesting outsourced employees of Uttarakhand Purva Sainik Nigam Limited (UPNL).

On Monday, protesting UPNL employees marched towards the secretariat in support of their demands but they were stopped by police at the Nalapani Chowk. Former chief minister Harish Rawat and the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Pritam Singh also participated in the march of protesting workers. “When we reached near Nalapani Chowk, the police had barricaded the road.

We all started protesting there along with Congress leaders Harish Rawat and Pritam Singh,” said UPNL employees union head Kushagra Joshi. According to him, chief secretary Om Prakash called five representatives of the UPNL employees union for a meeting and stated that only chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat can take the decision on this matter and when he returns to the State, the government will discuss the demands of the protesting employees.

However, Joshi said that they will continue their protest unless the State government gives a clear message regarding their demands.
