Chief secretary Anand Bardhan has directed all district magistrates to prepare vision documents for 2047 at the district and Panchayat levels on the lines of the national and state-level 2047 vision documents.
He gave the order while chairing a review meeting on the development projects at the State secretariat on Monday. The CS said that workshops should also be organized for preparing the 2024 vision documents.
He said that meetings of the district planning committees for the district plan must be held by March. Homework should begin now to ensure timely completion of the plans. The CS said that the officers concerned should prepare estimates by completing the procedural aspects of potential work to be included in the district plan.
He said that powers for procurement should be decentralized to the Horticulture Department, Agriculture Department, and Animal Husbandry Department at the district level. The CS said that plans should be developed to address the problems faced by the people. He said that livelihood-related schemes should be reviewed monthly at the district level and a quarterly review of these schemes should be held at the State level. On a stern note, the CS reiterated the directive to saturate government girls’ schools with toilets by March 8, 2026.
Principal secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretary Shailesh Bagauli, BVRC Purushottam, Chandresh Kumar Yadav, Kumaon commissioner Kumaon Deepak Rawat, Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey and others attended the meeting.
