In latest news from Doon, while chairing a meeting with the House of Himalayas and the Millet Mission in the assembly, the chief secretary Radha Raturi gave directions for boosting the volume of millet production and strengthening their supply chain. She also stressed on the agriculture and horticulture departments identifying lands presently not in use agriculturally and use them for large-scale production of mandua, jhangora and cholai. She further said that this should be done in phases and the women self- help groups should be engaged in the production and added that the cooperative department should also be roped in along with the agriculture and horticulture departments in the millet mission implementation.
