The chief secretary Radha Raturi on Wednesday directed all district magistrates to execute the Swachhata Green Leaf Rating (SGLR) system in all public buildings, hotels, and big institutions including the Secretariat to assess hospitality infrastructure in compliance with public health and hygiene practices. She also asked them to hold meetings with hotels regarding the execution of the SGLR system. She stated this during a review meeting of the works under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin and Jal Jeevan Mission along with the secretary of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Vini Mahajan. All DMs joined the review meeting virtually. Raturi said in the meeting that it is necessary to get certification acknowledging that proper drinking water supply is being provided to every house, school and Anganwadi centre in each district.

She also directed them to install or display information about government schemes regarding drinking water at all public places, especially at the Panchayat level.  Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Raturi asked to make maximum field visits and collect detailed data and information from the block level and village level to ensure drinking water supply to all homes, Anganwadi centres and schools in rural areas. It will be the responsibility of all DMs to complete the schemes related to drinking water supply on time, she added. She also directed the DMs to upload the work done by all the Gram Sabhas to get good ratings under the ODF Plus category on the IMIS portal of Jal Jeevan Mission. They were also instructed to give special emphasis on twin pit toilets, household soak pits, kitchen gardens for gray water, and compost pits besides the community solutions at the household level for proper waste management in rural areas.  The CS ordered DMs to set up plastic waste management units and use the collected plastic in the construction of roads. Red bins must be installed in all public places and tourist places for sanitary waste management. All district administrations should seriously work on biomedical waste management, she added.
