CS reviews Bharat Net, infrastructure projects, AMRUT II  & PM ABHIM schemes

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed the officers to ensure that electricity connection to the remaining 227 village Panchayat buildings out of 697 village Panchayats in the State is given in a timely manner under the Bharat Net project so that broadband connectivity can be provided to them. 

 She said that in view of the difficult geographical condition of the state, its strategic importance and sensitivity to natural disasters, the Bharat Net project should be implemented in the State in a time bound manner. 

The CS reviewed the progress of Bharat Net, Delhi -Dehradun expressway, Deoband –Roorkee railway line project and AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) -II and PM – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM ABHIM) programmes under PM Pragati portal at the State secretariat on Saturday. 

The CS was informed that out of 697 village Panchayats buildings, 339 have been electrified with permanent connection, 173 Panchayats have paid the required fee to UPCL for electrification.

In the meeting the CS also gave instructions for the speedy implementation of Delhi- Dehradun expressway and Deoband -Roorkee railway line projects. She said that effective coordination with the Uttar Pradesh government should be made in this regard. 

The CS directed the secretary Urban development to regularly monitor the projects under AMRUT II programme. She said that the participation of the citizens should be increased for monitoring the quality of drinking water. The CS directed that training to women self-help groups should be given for water testing and operation of water treatment plants. 

While reviewing the PM ABHIM,  the CS directed that a time-bound action plan for various activities  should be prepared by the officer. 

In the meeting Raturi directed the officers to regularly update the mapping, progress, expenditure and other information of all the projects on the PMS portal. Secretaries of the departments concerned were present in the meeting.
