CS reviews development works in border district of Pithoragarh

Chief secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu reviewed the execution of development works in the border district of Pithoragarh while on a tour of the district on Saturday. The Pithoragarh district magistrate Ashish Chauhan informed the chief secretary about the development works being undertaken in the district.
Regarding the health facilities, the district magistrate informed that the token based QMS system has been started at the district hospital. Further, a feedback app is also being started to seek information from patients about the health services in the district hospital. This will enable the patients to give their feedback which will help in timely redressal of the problems being faced by the patients in the district hospital.
The chief secretary directed that the under-construction base hospital be prepared and its functioning started as early as possible. He assured that funds for installation and establishment of RTPCR laboratory equipment will be provided as per the detailed project report. Informing about the water issues, the district magistrate said that the water problem is widespread in the district. Departmental tankers and other means are being used to supply water in the areas suffering from water supply issues. While reviewing the Apni Sarkar portal under which more than 33 works of the Revenue, Panchayati Raj, Employment and Urban Development departments are being undertaken, the chief secretary directed the officials to bring about further improvement in the portal. Regarding the development works in the district, Chauhan informed the chief secretary that the execution of works including Tharkotlake, vehicle parking and jail construction work and digging of ditches in forest areas under MNREGA for rain water collection has been undertaken. From the viewpoint of beautification, the construction of a clock tower, a glass bridge at Birthifall in Munsyari, Jhandapark and martyr memorial park, Tharkot lake and other works are being undertaken. The chief secretary stressed that as much as possible work will have to be done for the welfare of the public. He also directed the departmental officials concerned to ensure that the problems related to the public should be resolved swiftly. Work should be undertaken on poultry farming, cattle husbandry, tailoring, opening general store, beauty parlour, flour mill and other activities in various sectors under the MukhyamantriSwarozgarYojana so that income generation is facilitated for the public so that they do not opt for migration. The problems related to the public should be resolved in a sensitive manner, he added. The district’s superintendent of police Lokeshwar Singh, chief development officer Anuradha Pal and officials of various departments concerned were also present in the meeting.
