The chief secretary SS Sandhu conducted inspections of the Naini Saini airport and Base hospital building during his visit to Pithoragarh district on Wednesday. At Naini Saini airport the district magistrate (DM) gave a detailed powerpoint presentation on the plan of extension of the air strip to the CS. The secretary Dilip Jawalkar told the CS that the air services from the airport would commence in a time period of two months. After visiting the airport the CS conducted an inspection of the building of the Pithoragarh base hospital. He directed the DM that the process of the transfer of the building to the hospital should be done without any delay. He said that the building of the Base hospital should be maintained properly. The CS said that the secretary health would soon conduct an inspection of the Base hospital and expressed hope that the Base Hospital in Pithoragarh would soon become operational. The Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Anand Vardhan, secretary Dilip Jawalkar, secretary transport AS Hyanki, DM Pithorgarh Reena Joshi, CDO Varun Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police (SP) Lokeshwar Singh, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) FR Chauhan and others were present on the occasion.
