the people in general and the tourists in particular have been facing. He said that in view of the surging tourist footfalls in Uttarakhand, the parking problem is being aggravated, particularly in the mountainous areas. He said that in accordance with the requirement, small parking slots should be set up in the tourist places. “They may be small but their number may be increased as per requirement,” he said. He directed the State’s additional chief secretary Anand Vardhan to take fortnightly review meeting on the parking problem.
Sandhu further said that it must be ensured while solving the parking problems that the ordeal on the roads does not increase in any way. “While setting up parking spaces, we should not allow road security to be compromised. Besides, it should not worsen the traffic flow by creating new traffic bottlenecks,” CS said.
