CS seeks report on utility of collection centres of Agriculture department

 Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has said that a report regarding the actual utility of all the collection centers of the agriculture department in the State should be prepared. She sought a detailed report on the location mapping of all the collection centers, their operational status, and the actual utilization.  The CS chaired the fourth high powered committee (HPC) meeting of REAP (Rural Enterprise Velocity Growth Project) held at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

In the meeting the CS approved the proposal for revision of unit rates for construction of wayside amenities and collection centres under REAP. She directed the Agriculture department to make arrangements for certified seeds of crops, pulses and millets grown in mountainous areas.

 Raturi also instructed the officers to complete the target of preparing 400 entrepreneurs under REAP.

 She said that the 500 entrepreneurs should be prepared in Bhimtal and Okhalkanda blocks by employing scientific methods of value addition in Bay leaves. Approval was also given to proposals worth Rs 60.33 crore for preparing 300 entrepreneurs under silk heritage conservation, preparing 503 entrepreneurs through establishment of mother unit and rearing unit for poultry farming, preparing 402 entrepreneurs under mushroom compost and production unit. Raturi also approved the plan to distribute 2,400 Pashu Sakhi kits by training more and more local women as health workers of domestic animals under the REAP project. She said that priority to gender sensitization should be given in the implementation of all schemes. 

Secretaries Radhika Jha,  Dhiraj Garbyal, additional secretary Manuj Goyal and other officers were present on the occasion.
