A meeting of the steering committee involving the projects being executed in Uttarakhand in association with Hans Foundation was held in the secretariat on Tuesday. The meeting was presided over by the State chief secretary, S S Sandhu. During the meeting, Hans Foundation gave detailed information about the development projects being executed with its association in the state.
The CS gave instructions to the health department to ensure that more medical mobile units are started with the help of Hans Foundation. Dwelling on Pirul ( pine needles) triggering forest fire, he sought cooperation from Hans Foundation for using Pirul as a substitute for cooking gas for mid-day meals in schools.
Sandhu also sought cooperation from Hans Foundation in the field of education, saying that it can work in BRC and CRC levels to enhance skill. He also stressed on the Hans Foundation working with the state government in the livelihood-related training programmes. He assured all possible help from the state government to the Hans Foundation in the development of the state.
The chief executive officer (CEO) of Hans Foundation, Sandeep Kapoor informed that 52 medical mobile units run by Hans Foundation are functioning in 1235 remote villages across the state. He further said that under the Hans Entrepreneurship Mission, technical assistance and loans are being provided to the entrepreneurs in the schemes run by the State government.
