CSIR-IIP hosts workshop on role of carbon materials in green energy generation

CSIR-IIP hosted a national workshop on advanced carbon materials for next generation energy solutions here on Friday. Addressing it, the president of Indian Carbon Society O P Bahl apprised those present about the importance of carbon materials in the field of future green energy generation, storage devices and the challenges ahead to make the country self-reliant in this important area. The director, CSIR-IIP, Dehradun H S Bisht in his plenary lecture focused on ‘Sustainable Energy, Environment and Carbon Materials’ with specific reference to works being done at CSIR-IIP.
About 100 delegates participated in the workshop and there were 11 invited talks delivered by renowned researchers from prestigious institutes of the country like BARC Mumbai, IIT Mandi; Tata Steels Jamshedpur; CSIR-CECRI, CSIR-NPL and CSIR-IIP. In addition, there were about 55 presentations by various researchers from different academic institutes and industries.
