CSOWA’s Sanjeevani Diwali Fest concludes in Doon

The two-day Sanjeevani Diwali Fest-2023 organised by Civil Service Officers Wives Association (CSOWA) concluded here on Sunday. The association’s head Harleen Kaur Sandhu said that the fair this year was grander that events held in the past years. She said that the association will work to organise this event- a mix of social service and culture- on a bigger scale in the future. All the members of the Sanjeevani organisation played a role in the event, she said.
The organisation’s secretary Rashmi Bardhan said that women and entrepreneurs from remote and border districts had been called to the Sanjeevani Diwali Fest. The event was based on the vision of women empowerment, Atmanirbhar Bharat and self-reliant villages.The scope of the event is increasing every year with the participation of the local public. Sanjeevani organisation will continue such work in the interests of the State and society in the future as well, she added.
Those operating various stalls in the fest stated that they had received a good platform to sell their products just ahead of Diwali. The fest provides a market to their products and augments their income. Visitors to the fair showed a positive response to the products, they said. The event organisers stated that prominence was accorded to local products and culture of the State through the stalls set at the venue. Products made by self help groups including shawls, sweaters, puja mats, handmade candles, clay utensils, Ringal products, decorative items, Pahadi Rajma, homemade pickles and juices of mountain fruits were sold in the two-day event while special importance was accorded to products made from coarse grains like millet.
