The Culture department celebrated the Harela Festival at the newly constructed Himalayan Culture Centre premises in Dehradun on Monday in the presence of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his wife Geeta Dhami.
Speaking on the occasion, Geeta Dhami said that the traditional festivals of Uttarakhand like Harela constitute the State’s unique cultural heritage. Director of the department Beena Bhatt said that along with sapling plantation, the department is promoting the distinctive culture of the State through organising folk dance programmes to mark this day. Moreover, a culture troupe from Jaunsar presented songs on Mahasu Devta.
