Cyber security training workshop concludes for CISOs

A three-day cyber security training workshop for chief information security officers (CISOs) – organised by the Information Technology Agency (ITDA) in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology( MEIT)- concluded  here on Wednesday. On the final day, three sessions were organised covering the topics of ‘cyber security and e-governance risks.’

Addressing the workshop, the director of ITDA, Nitika Khandelwal said that the three-day training was meant to utilise the knowledge gained to enhance cyber security measures within their respective departments. She also added that the lectures from the workshop’s subject experts would be shared with all departments to disseminate information about the cyber security measures.

 Shailendra Gupta from HCL provided detailed information to the participants about the importance of strong passwords, regular software updates, antivirus and firewall usage data encryption and other measures to protect against cyber threats such as data breaches, phishing attacks, malware, ransomware, unauthorised access, data privacy breaches and digital fraud.

Notably, the workshop encompassed a total of 11 sessions on various aspects of cyber security with active participation from 30 attendees representing 20 departments, including 15 CISOs from different departments.
