Cyber thugs con physiotherapist of Rs 3.5 lakh
Victim had received message about getting franchise of popular restaurant chain

A physiotherapist has been allegedly duped by cyber criminals of about Rs 3.5 lakh under the pretext of awarding the franchise of a famous south Indian restaurant. The police have registered a case and transferred it to the cyber cell for investigation and further action.
Physiotherapist Rajiv Chaturvedi, a resident of Pirwali Gali in Aryanagar submitted a complaint to the police in the matter. He stated that he had received a message on his mobile phone which was about getting a franchise of Sagar Ratna restaurant. Considering the message to be genuine, he downloaded the app attached in the message. He stated that his phone and credit card details were hacked while downloading the app after which he also started receiving multiple messages.
Suspecting cyber fraud, he lodged a complaint and got his credit card blocked. However, the cyber criminals had allegedly managed to transfer Rs 3.5 lakh by that time.
According to Jwalapur police a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint. The matter has been transferred to the cyber cell for investigation.
