Cycle rally flagged off on World Bicycle Day

To mark the World Bicycle Day, the district magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadoria flagged off a cycle rally from Manoj Sarkar Sports Stadium and also inaugurated the Water Festival Week. These programmes were organised under the aegis of the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARRA), in collaboration with the Sports department and Social Welfare department.  

Addressing the gathering, the DM stated that conserving water resources is a crucial need of the present time. “Public participation is essential for a clean and healthy environment,” he said and urged the citizens to avoid unnecessary water loss and keep rivers and other water sources clean.

A total of 235 participants were present in the programme, out of whom 200 took part in the cycle race. At the end of the programme, a number of boys and girls were presented with prizes.

Among the dignitaries present were the district chief development officer, Divesh Shashani Achrya and the district sports officer Janaki Karki.
