The students of DAV PG College once again held a protest on Thursday on the college premises against the failure of the college management to address their demands. The president of the student union Siddharth Aggarwal informed that despite repeated requests made over the past six to seven months, the college management has not taken any action on their demands. He stated that the protest on Thursday marked the third day of their demonstration. Aggarwal further added that if positive results regarding their demands are not achieved soon, they will be compelled to intensify the movement.

Informing about the demands of the students, Aggarwal said that the students have been demanding action on the issue of vacant teaching and other staff positions that directly impact the students’ education. He informed that currently, out of 185 teaching faculty positions, only 132 have been filled, and out of 56 and 94 positions for third and fourth-class staff, only 27 and 47 have been filled, respectively. In addition, the students are demanding the installation of a 100-foot national flag, a promise made by cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi in 2023 but has not been fulfilled. They were also seeking improvements to the college’s classes and infrastructure.
