The department of science and technology (DST) has given a grant of Rs 60 lakhs to the six departments of science to the DAV PG College. The grant has been given under the FIST project of DST. The project aims to encourage the research and development activities in the new and emerging areas and to set up infrastructure and other facilities to attract new talent in the universities and other educational institutes.
The newly appointed Principal of the DAV PG College, SK Singh said that the department of chemistry, botany, zoology, physics, mathematics and statistics will receive the grant. Under the project purchase of new equipment, networking and computing facilities and maintenance of new and old facilities will be done for a period of five years.
The secretary of DAV management society Manvendra Swarup congratulated the Principal and the staff of the DAV PG College for the achievement.
