The main branch of the Haridwar District Cooperative Bank Ltd located on B T Ganj Roorkee took possession of the mortgaged property of the loan defaulter Sumit Kumar located in Salhapur village in Roorkee and the mortgaged property of another defaulter Mahendra Giri / Sunita located in New Adarsh Nagar Roorkee on Monday, the bank officials said. They further said that the authorised officer of the bank took possession of the mortgaged properties under the SARFAESI Act 2002.
The bank’s secretary/ general manager of the bank Vishwavijay Singh said that the bank would continue to take such action under the SARFAESI Act against the loan repayment defaulters in future also.
