Dead bodies recovered in Kankhal & Jwalapur of Haridwar

The discovery of two bodies in Kankhal and Jwalapur areas shocked the local people in Haridwar on Wednesday. The first body was found lying near Om bridge of Kankhal police station area, while the second body was recovered from a drain in Jwalapur Kotwali area. Police have sent both the bodies for post-mortem.
According to the Kankhal police, Praveen Kumar (38 years), a resident of the Bengali hospital, was missing from the house since October 19. On Wednesday, the police got information that a body of a person in decomposed condition is lying on the banks of river Ganga near Om bridge.
On the basis of the information, when the police station in-charge Kankhal Mukesh Chauhan reached the spot and called the relative and identified the body as that of Praveen. Chauhan said that the cause of death is yet to be ascertained. The deceased is said to be addicted to drugs.
In another case, the body of a person was found lying in a drain in the HariLok Colony area of Kotwali Jwalapur area on Wednesday afternoon. After getting the information, Kotwali Jwalapur in-charge RK Saklani reached the spot. The deceased was identified as Gopeshwar (39 years), a native of Najibabad of Bijnor district of UP.
