The debris were cleared near Helang and traffic on the Badrinath national highway was resumed after about 13 hours on Friday. The highway was blocked by heavy debris from the mountain on Thursday at 6 PM. Due to the blockage, vehicles coming from Badrinath were stopped at Joshimath.
The work of clearing the debris was carried out throughput Thursday night after which the road was cleared and traffic was resumed at about 7 ÀM on Friday. With this the movement of traffic to and from Badrinath was restored on Friday morning.
