The Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) has taken various decisions to improve the position of women and transgenders in the State.
The decisions were taken in a meeting held recently with the Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPPGG), Planning department. The USCW chairperson Kusum Kandwal said, “The commission has decided to take necessary steps to strengthen the position of women in rural areas by connecting them digitally in various fields.
It was also decided to provide a better living environment and more employment opportunities in every sector to the women. The commission also decided to work towards facilitating employment for transgenders in various fields.The decisions taken in the meeting will soon be submitted to the State government so that they can be implemented soon,” she said.
