Deepak Rawat inspects Jamrani project, reviews progress

The Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat conducted on Tuesday a site inspection of the under-construction Jamrani Dam project and reviewed its progress. After the inspection, he said that the people of this area will benefit in areas of drinking water and irrigation on the completion of this project, adding that the drinking water scarcity that Haldwani faces in the summer would be resolved.
He further said that the project being built at a cost of Rs 3700 crores would be completed in 2029. While the height of the project would be about 150 meters the length would be up to 10 km, he said and added that at present two tunnels of 600 meters were being built and would be completed in about 16 months. He inspected the testing lab, the under-construction Jamrani Dam colony and the primary health centre.
