The Bar Association, Dehradun has started a campaign for generating a public opinion for shifting the High Court (HC) to IDPL Rishikesh. A meeting of the general body of the association was held in Dehradun on Wednesday. In the meeting the recent decision of the chief Justice Ritu Bahari and Justice Rakesh Thapliyal in the Uttarakhand state versus Gulshan Bhanot case was welcomed. In the decision the HC had asked to conduct an opinion poll on shifting the HC to IDPL Rishikesh. The secretary of the Bar association, Rajbeer Singh Bisht said that responsibilities have been assigned to the advocates for encouraging the general public to register their opinion for shifting the HC on the portal of the Uttarakhand HC. He said that different committees of senior, junior and women advocates have been constituted for garnering support for shifting HC to IDPL Rishikesh.
The advocates also observed a no work day on Wednesday in support of their demand.
