Dehradun district on Tuesday has reported 27 new cases of swine flu (Influenza H1N1), bringing the total number of cases to 132. Informing this, the chief medical officer, Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that out of the total 132 cases, 87 are from Dehradun district while 45 are from other States and districts.
He further said that out of the 27 new cases reported on Tuesday, 16 are from Dehradun and 11 are from other states and districts. Currently, 38 cases are active. Among them, 28 patients are admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, four at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh, four at Himalayan Hospital, one at Kailash Hospital and one at Graphic Era Hospital.
Sharma urged the residents to take precautions to prevent swine flu, such as wearing masks in crowded places, using a handkerchief while sneezing or coughing, and washing hands with soap before meals and after returning home.
Audit lowers Swine Flu deaths from 5 to 2
DEHRADUN: The chief medical officer, Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that the number of swine flu fatalities has been reduced from five to two in the district following the receipt of the death audit report. . Importantly, the Health department had previously stated that there were five deaths in the swine flu cases involving individuals who were also suffering from other diseases.
“The recent data after the death audit shows only two deaths caused by swine flu,” the CMO stated.
