Demands holding of the competitive examinations as per the calendar
Amid the continued protest by the unemployed and the demand for postponement of the all the competitive examinations till the inquiry in the paper leak cases is completed, a delegation of the successful candidates for the PCS mains examinations met the additional chief secretary (ASC) Radha Raturi at her office in the secretariat on Monday. The delegation requested the ACS and the Personnel secretary Shailesh Bagauli that the PSC mains examination slated to be held from February 23 to 26 should be held as per the schedule.
The members of the delegation also requested that all upcoming examinations should also be organised as per the recruitment calendar. They pointed out that holding the examinations on time would help in upholding the morale of the unemployed. The members of the delegation expressed gratitude to the State government and the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the most stringent anti-copying act of the country – the Uttarakhand Competitive Examinations (measures for control and prevention of unfair means in recruitment) ordinance 2023. They said that the State government has understood the feelings of the youth and implemented the anti-copying law in the State in the shortest period of time. The new law has unleashed a new wave of enthusiasm among the youth and they are completely satisfied with the system of examinations.
Raturi assured the delegation that all the competitive examinations including the PCS mains would be held as per the calendar. She said that the State administration is committed to conduct all recruitment examinations with full transparency and integrity and the morale of the hard working and talented youngsters would not be allowed to get affected. Raturi said that the examination of the Patwari recruitment was successfully conducted by the State administration on Sunday. She appealed to the youngsters to remain positive and prepare for the upcoming examination with dedication. The ACS said that strict action would be taken on those spreading rumours.
