Doon, Haridwar CMOs served show cause notices
Taking a serious note of the spurt in the cases if dengue and chikungunya in Dehradun and Haridwar districts the secretary in-charge of health and medical education department Dr R Rajesh Kumar has issued show cause notices to the Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of these two districts. In the notice the two CMOs have been asked to submit an explanation within three days for their failure to take effective steps to control the spread of these diseases. Kumar had issued directives to the CMOs of all 13 districts for taking measures to control dengue and chikungunya in their districts. In the notices, the secretary in-charge has said that laxity is being observed on their part which has resulted in abnormal increase in the cases of dengue and chikungunya.
The stern action taken by Kumar comes in the wake of the concern raised by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on increasing cases of dengue and other diseases in some parts of the State.
