Dengue ramping up, 75 cases till Sept 17

In latest news from Doon, the State government and the health directorate have intensified vigil over the surging number of dengue cases across the State. So far, since April to September 17, 75 cases of the vector-borne disease have surfaced in the State. One death has reportedly occurred in Rishikesh though, in view of the co-morbidity factor involved in the death, the health directorate ordered death audit.  

Pauri district accounts for the maximum number of dengue cases with the figure standing at 59   while the figures are nine, three, three and one for Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts respectively.

The State health minister Dhan Singh Rawat directed the health directorate and the chief medical officers of all the districts to remain vigilant for the next two months.

The senior State health officers said that the dengue menace is likely to hang over the State till the end of December.
